Question: Which states allow polygamy?

United States: Polygamy is illegal in all 50 states however in Utah, in February 2020, the law was significantly changed in the House and Senate to reduce polygamy to the status of a traffic ticket. It is still illegal federally according to the Edmunds Act.

The United State Supreme Court in 1878 effectively outlawed any kind of plural marriage such as polygamy or bigamy. The legal definition of bigamy in Nevada is the condition of knowingly having more than one husband or wife at the same time. Like every other state, Nevada outlaws bigamy.
