While relapse is part of the recovery experience for many people, it should not be taken lightly. Relapse not only endangers your recovery, but it can endanger your life, more so than your initial addiction.

The good news is that relapse doesnt necessarily knock a person back to square one as recovering from a relapse may not always require the same type of treatment. However, relapse IS dangerous because it carries a higher-than-average risk of overdose and the potential to go back to regular usage of drugs or alcohol.
